Get high quality beef.
Our inputs are thoughtfully crafted to produce all-natural, consistent, high-quality beef. We use rotational grazing practices to provide nutritious forage and naturally maintain pasture health. Our beef animals are finished with a curated ration of grains and forage sourced from local farms. Our cattle have free-choice minerals and water at all times. Our animals grow naturally, without added hormones. We harvest animals around 18-22 months of age at peak condition. Then, the meat is dry aged for 14 to 21 days before processing. The result is flavorful, tender, and consistently high-quality beef.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a beef share?
When you purchase a beef share, you’re reserving a portion of one of our beef animals before it goes to the butcher.
Your deposit secures your share, and we reserve that portion of the animal for you. You’ll receive a variety of cuts from your share, including steaks, roasts, ribs, and ground beef, based on the size of your share and your cutting instructions.
It’s a simple way to buy beef directly from our farm, know where your beef comes from, and stock your freezer with a variety of cuts.
What is the purchase process and total cost?
Bulk beef purchases involve both the cost of the beef and the cost of processing. We make the process simple by coordinating with the butcher and billing you for everything through Treeline Farms.
Your beef is priced by the pound of hanging weight—the weight of your share after harvest and before cutting and trimming (often called “on the hook,” rather than “on the hoof”).
Step 1: Reserve your share
Place a nonrefundable deposit to reserve your quarter, half, or whole beef share. Your deposit is applied toward the total cost of your beef.
Step 2: Pay your final invoice
Once your beef is harvested and the final hanging weight is available, we’ll send you one final invoice from Treeline Farms. This includes:
- The remaining balance for your beef, priced by hanging weight
- Your butcher's processing costs, including cut and wrap and applicable fees and taxes
Butcher costs are billed separately from the price of the beef but are conveniently included on your final Treeline Farms invoice. Average butcher costs are approximately $1.85 per lb. of hanging weight, including typical processing fees.
We typically pick up the finished beef from the butcher and coordinate local pickups and deliveries, so you don’t need to manage a separate payment or pickup with the butcher.
How much freezer space do I need?
As a general rule, plan for about 1 cubic foot of freezer space for every 35 lbs of frozen beef. The amount you’ll need can vary depending on how your beef is cut and packaged.
Here’s a general guide:
- Quarter beef: Approximately 6–7 cu. ft. — a small chest or upright freezer
- Half beef: Approximately 9–12 cu. ft. — a medium chest or upright freezer
- Whole beef: Approximately 16–20 cu. ft. — a large chest or upright freezer
We typically recommend an upright/stand-up freezer for bulk beef shares because it makes it much easier to organize and access different cuts. A chest freezer works well, too, but you’ll want to consider how you’ll organize and rotate your beef so the cuts at the bottom don’t get forgotten!
When in doubt, go a little bigger. Having some extra freezer space gives you room to organize your beef and leaves space for other frozen foods.
What cuts do I get and how many?
When you purchase a ¼, ½, or whole beef share, you’ll receive your portion of the animal’s full range of cuts. You’re not simply choosing from a predetermined box of cuts—you’re receiving your share of the whole animal.
You’ll have the opportunity to customize your cuts. You’ll work directly with the butcher to provide your cutting instructions, choosing things like steaks, roasts, ribs, and ground beef.
As a general guideline, your take-home beef will be approximately:
- 30% Steaks — ribeyes, filets, T-bones, porterhouse, and other steaks, depending on your cutting instructions
- 30% Large Cuts & Ribs — brisket, roasts, short ribs, and other larger cuts, depending on your cutting instructions
- 40% Ground Beef
These percentages are approximate, and your exact mix will vary based on the animal, your cutting instructions, and how the butcher cuts and trims your share.
You’re getting your share of the whole animal, which means your box includes a variety of cuts—not just the most familiar steaks.
Why buy a beef share?
Buying a beef share is a great way to stock your freezer with locally raised beef while getting more value from your purchase.
- Better value: Bulk beef averages about 20% less per pound than purchasing comparable cuts individually from our retail offerings.
- Know where your beef comes from: Your share comes from one animal raised on our farm, so you know the farm and people behind your beef.
- A variety of cuts: You receive your share of the whole animal, including steaks, roasts, ribs, and ground beef.
- Support local agriculture: Your purchase directly supports a small, family-owned farm and keeps more of your food dollars within our local agricultural community.
- Make the most of the whole animal: Buying a share allows you to enjoy a wide variety of cuts rather than selecting only individual favorites.
A beef share is an investment in your freezer—and a direct connection to the farm raising your food.
